Lorenzo opened a hidden archive.
Hundreds of files appeared.
Employee records.
Phone calls.
Financial transactions.
Security footage.
He searched Valentina's name.
A folder appeared.
Six months of recordings.
Valentina entering restricted rooms.
Valentina meeting strangers.
Valentina accessing Lorenzo's private computer.
Then one recording made me freeze.
Valentina stood in the chapel.
She was speaking to the same man from the phone call.
“When the wedding happens, the route is ours.”
The man replied:
“And the child?”
Valentina answered:
“She won't be here.”
Lorenzo stopped the recording.
His face was expressionless.
I looked at him.
“She planned to send Lena away.”
“No.”
His jaw tightened.
“She planned to make Lena disappear.”
Lena looked at us.
“Daddy?”
Lorenzo turned immediately.
“Everything is okay.”
Then another file opened.
A payment record.
Millions transferred from Lorenzo's accounts.
Beneficiary: Valentina Ricci.
But the transfers were fake.
The money had been moved to another account.
Lorenzo stared.
“Someone has been using my name.”
I looked at the screen.
“Who?”
He opened the ownership file.
The final beneficiary was a company called Ricci Holdings.
Valentina's family.
