Marcus and federal investigators built the case carefully.

Forged signatures.
Deleted claims.
Abduction footage.
Recorded threats.
Everything was connected.
Then they found the final piece.
A hidden account had received money from every major transaction.
The account belonged to Victor Callaway.
Marcus stared at the screen.
“He's alive.”
The investigator nodded.
“Very much alive.”
Marcus felt anger and disbelief collide.
Victor had spent years pretending to be retired.
Meanwhile, he had been controlling the entire operation from overseas.
Federal agents located him in Miami.
He was arrested at a private residence.
During questioning, Victor finally admitted the truth.
He had planned to take control of Callaway Freight.
Crane helped.
Voss executed the scheme.
And Olivia's claim was targeted because she had accidentally discovered irregularities while working in the company's payroll department.
“She found the payments,” Marcus said.
Victor nodded.
“She wasn't supposed to survive long enough to tell anyone.”
Marcus's fists tightened.
“And Maya?”
Victor looked away.
“She was leverage.”
