Chapter 14 - THE RECORDING
While Olivia recovered, Marcus received an anonymous file.
Inside was a recording of Daniel Voss meeting Elliot Crane.
Marcus listened.
Voss said, “Callaway is asking questions.”
Crane answered, “Then make him stop.”
“How?”
“Use the girl.”
Marcus's blood turned cold.
The recording continued.
“If he still refuses, destroy him financially.”
Marcus ended the audio.
He immediately sent it to federal investigators.
But there was another voice in the recording.
A third person.
Someone Marcus didn't recognize.
That person said one sentence.
“Remember who really owns the company.”
Marcus replayed it.
Again.
And again.
The voice sounded familiar.
He just couldn't place it.
Then his assistant walked into the office.
“Sir, there's something you need to see.”
A financial filing had been submitted anonymously.
It revealed that Marcus's controlling shares had been secretly transferred into a trust.
