Chapter 15 - BETRAYAL
Marcus confronted Crane in the boardroom.
“You stole my company.”
Crane didn't deny it.
“I saved it.”
“You manipulated claims, destroyed families, and forged documents.”
“I protected the business.”
“You protected yourself.”
Crane laughed softly.
“Do you know why you became successful?”
Marcus said nothing.
“Because I taught you to be ruthless.”
“I never asked you to become a criminal.”
“You were too sentimental.”
Crane pointed toward Marcus.
“That little girl is your weakness.”
Marcus stepped closer.
“No.”
He looked him directly in the eyes.
“She reminded me what strength actually is.”
Crane's smile vanished.
“You'll regret this.”
Marcus answered quietly.
“I already regret trusting you.”
Security entered.
Crane was escorted away.
But Marcus knew the investigation wasn't over.
